Texting terms
For patients who get text messages from a medical practice that uses our system. How it works, and how to stop.
Last updated October 17, 2026
TKTech LLC (“TK Tech”) provides Huginn, the phone and texting system some medical practices use to text their patients. The texts come from your practice, which is responsible for them; we run the system they’re sent through. These terms apply to those messages.
What you’ll receive
Messages about your care with the practice: appointment reminders and confirmations, scheduling, follow-up on calls, office updates such as closures, and replies from office staff to messages you send. Texts are not used for health information such as test results; your practice will reach you another way for that. We don’t send marketing texts.
How often you hear from your practice varies, usually a few messages around each appointment.
How you agree to texts
You agree to receive texts when you give your mobile number to the practice and agree to be contacted by text, for example at check-in or on an intake form, or when you text the practice’s number yourself. Agreeing to texts is not a condition of getting care.
How to stop
Reply STOP to any message and that number will get no more texts from that practice. You’ll get one message confirming it. To start again, reply START. You can also ask the practice’s front desk.
Help
Reply HELP for help, call your practice, or email [email protected].
Rates and carriers
Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Privacy
Mobile phone numbers and texting consent are never shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Text conversations are kept as part of the practice’s records, protected under HIPAA and the practice’s agreement with us. Please don’t text sensitive health details. See our privacy policy, and your practice’s own privacy notice.
